About
Bari Resnick studied illustration at the School of Visual Arts. Her formal training included fine arts—painting, drawing, and sculpture. Her focus in recent years has been leading figure drawing spaces as a form of community building and embodied artistic practice. She enjoys painting the figure and collaborating with the model as a means of communication for both parties, practicing the art of observation, highlighting the unspoken language of the body and the individual’s vibrancy. She seeks to emphasize the “life” in life drawing, and help students develop a visual language that is uniquely their own. She finds delight in helping students and peers discover their own path to experimentation and play, prioritizing process over product. Bari has led figure drawing events throughout New York and has brought her practice to NC, teaching at the Carrboro ArtsCenter.
